Application Of Lyocell Fiber Products

Due to its basic chemical structure, Lyocell fiber contains a large number of hydroxyl groups in the basic unit of the fiber, which makes it have good hygroscopicity. The water absorption rate of Lyocell fiber can reach 11.5%, which is higher than that of cotton fiber. Good moisture absorption can improve the wearing comfort of the fabric and reduce the accumulation of static electricity.

The thermal properties of Lyocell fiber directly affect its processability and serviceability. The study of its heat resistance, heat shrinkage and combustion properties is of guiding significance to determine the processing technology.

Lyocell fiber is made by dry spray wet spinning process, the fiber has a relatively perfect circular cross-section and a relatively uniform internal structure, coupled with the fiber itself has a high degree of polymerization, so that the dry strength and wet strength of Lyocell fiber are higher than cotton fiber, its dry strength almost reached the level of polyester, therefore, conducive to its processing and preparation of high strength requirements of clothing. Lyocell fiber also shows a high wet modulus, which will make the fabric manufactured by Lyocell fiber has the characteristics of small shrinkage and good shape preservation.

Compared with viscose fiber, due to the high crystallinity of Lyocell fiber, the initial temperature of thermal decomposition is higher than that of viscose fiber, the thermal weight loss is less, the dynamic modulus changes little, the fiber strength reduction is less, the elongation at break can also meet the processing and use requirements, has good heat resistance, and the thermal shrinkage rate is low, and the combustion condition is basically the same as that of viscose fiber. When Lyocell fiber is kept at 190℃ for 30min, the breaking strength and elongation at break of the fiber are 88.4% and 88.6% of the original value, respectively, showing good heat resistance.

In conventional textile processing and normal use, the highest temperature that clothing fabrics may encounter is about 180 ° C, lasting about 30. Cellulose fibers do not have a large number of thermal shrinkage rings as synthetic fibers, especially because Lyocell fibers have high crystallinity and dense and stable structure, so the thermal shrinkage rate is very low, maintaining the characteristics similar to natural cellulose fibers such as cotton and hemp.

Therefore, Lyocell fibers can be adapted to the requirements of ironing processing and use.
