Modal fiber is a cellulose fiber, and artificial cotton is the same as cellulose fiber, is a pure man-made fiber. From the European bush made of wood slurry after a special spinning process, Modal products because of its own has a very good softness and excellent moisture absorption but its fabric crisp poor characteristics, mostly used in the production of underwear.

Lyocell fiber is a fiber obtained by organic solvent spinning process, with renewable bamboo, wood and other pulp formed after crushing as raw materials, advanced technology makes its solvent recovery up to 99.7%, not only energy saving, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

The difference between the two is generally in the following aspects:

1. Different production processes

Modal: Made of wood slurry from shrub trees in Europe after a special spinning process, is a high wet modulus of regenerated cellulose fiber.

Lyocell: The pulp formed after the natural plant fiber is mashed as raw material, through the organic solvent spinning process. The advanced process makes the solvent recovery rate up to 99.7%, energy saving, environmental protection, and sustainable development.

2.Different production characteristics

Modal: The production process is non-polluting, physiologically harmless and biodegradable.

Lyocell: The production process has no chemical reaction, the solvent used is non-toxic, the waste is biodegradable, the production process is simple, which can save oil resources and meet the requirements of environmental protection.

3.Fabric characteristics are different

Model: soft touch, bright color, good color fastness, fabric feel particularly smooth, bright and shiny cloth surface, overhang is better than the existing cotton, polyester, viscose fiber, with the strength and toughness of synthetic fiber, with silk like luster and feel, its fabric has wrinkle resistance and ironing, water absorption and air permeability.

Lyocell: with a variety of natural fiber and synthetic fiber excellent properties, natural luster, smooth feel, high strength, basically no shrinkage, and moisture permeability, good air permeability, soft, comfortable, smooth cool, drdrability, good durability.

4. Different application fields

Modal: Knitted fabrics are mainly used to make underwear, but also for sportswear, casual wear, shirts, high-grade ready-to-wear fabrics and so on. Blending with other fibers improves the crispness of pure Modal products.

Lyocell: Covering all fields of textile, whether it is cotton, wool, silk, linen type products, or knitting or weaving fields can produce high quality products.
